I've been nominated for a Liebster award friends! Yippee!!!!
Miss rising star, Thessaly from Lazarus Bell nominated me. Such a shock! Thank you so much Thessaly!
OK ladies, here are the rules:
- Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
- They must also answer the 11 questions the tagger has set for them.
- They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
- They must then choose 11 special bloggers to tag & award with the Liebster award with less than 200 followers.
- These lucky bloggers must be told in a comment on their blog
11 things about me? hmmmm......
1. I have a porcelain shoe collection. Yep. My great grandmother had one so I inherited all of hers when she passed away when I was 7. I've been receiving one every year for Xmas ever since. They've all been tucked away in boxes for years now, but I love the idea that I can pass these on to my grandchildren.
2. I'm a total wine-o. ha! Really, I can admit, I am. Not a wine snob..... but definitely a wine-o!
3. I'm 30. Oh my god I can't believe I just said this.
4. I enjoy cozy nights on the couch watching TV waaaaaaay too much. I need about one of these a week! (at least). Especially when it gets dark so early.
5. I'm a master math and logic puzzle do-er. Oh my gosh I am SERIOUSLY releasing my inner nerd with these!
6. I worked as a waitress at an indian restaurant when I was 18, and have been in love with indian food since. Paneer tikka masala........... YES!
7. I'm engaged to a pretty fab dude that I like to call Jerd on this blog. His real name is Jared. A friend of ours calls us "Terd" when speaking to both of us. Trish + Jerd = Terd. ha!
8. I am a lover of festive holidays. Christmas time to me definitely is the most wonderful time of the year. I watch It's a Wonderful Life every year on Christmas night and cry at the end. Every Single Year. My fave movie of all time.
9. I'm pretty sure I've got a curse on my left leg and foot. I somehow manage to seriously injur it almost every year. There was that time I fell in a sewage ditch and my left foot twisted underneath a pipe and got stuck..... or that time a few years ago I fell down a flight of cement stairs and busted my kneecap pretty good. Oh geez the list the list goes on. This year, my leg is curse free so far. I must be doing something right. :)
10. I am buying a house!!! Goodbye adorable but tiny apartment..... hello fixer upper!! I am probably way more excited about this than I should be. I'm sure once I have every weekend filled with house projects I will moan and groan. See #4!
11. Lastly, I would give just about anything for my close friends. My family is a tad wonky, so my friends have become like family to me. Just typing this gets me a bit emotional about it. I adore my friends and would be nothing without them. Cheers!
OK....... enough about me, more about ME!

8. What are you most proud of accomplishing?
I gotta say that I am most proud of the life that I've created for myself. Although it's not perfect, I grew up with a single mother who was not in any position mentally or financially to have children. I managed to break away from a really screwed up situation and build a stable and fulfilling home life. It still shocks me sometimes.

9. What's a deal breaker for you in relationships?
A sense of humor. Totally. A guy has got to be able to make me laugh (and laugh at me too) or I will NEVER find him sexy.

You made my day!
Oh, congrats on your award! Whooohooo! And thanks for nominating me. I'm smitten. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved learning more about you...
On being 30, don't worry, I have a year on you. ;)
So excited you are getting a new home and can't wait to see all your 'fixer upper' projects.
Gotta love a glass of vino. :)
Have a great week, Trish. Sounds like it's already off to a great start!
Hooray for you - and hooray for me! :-) Wait, hooray for all of us!
ReplyDeleteI loved this post, you really let us get to know you a little bit better. I feel like I have something to say about every single bullet here but I guess I have to limit myself...
Indian food! Wow. I love everything Indian but have had quite a hard time to get used to the food. After two trips there it's getting better though, and I can honestly say that I love palak paneer and paneer tikka masala. But not too spicy, thank you.
On being 30. I'm 31. 32 in January. Time goes SO fast! But I think we get older and wiser (and more beautiful!) every year :-)
The left side of my body is cursed too. It's been like that since I was a kid. It's always the left side that is hurt in some way. Funny. Or not so. I don't know.
I'm touched by the story of your family and how you managed to create the life you are living now. You are strong!
Thank you so much Trish!!! I'm 29, so I'm right behind you!
