Let's chat {about holiday fever}

Raise your hand if you have holiday fever!!!!! (But don't want to hear the Xmas shit just yet.)

I do!  I do!  I do! (Nevermind the cow costume. ha!)

Oh gosh friends..... I adore the holidays.  I always think fall is my favorite time of year, and then that holiday feeling whooshes over me and I just can't help but turn into a huge sappy cheesehead!!  Seriously, I find myself crying at radio commercials on like, the soft pop station, and I NEVER want it to end.

I was shopping with a friend (actually, the lovely lady raising the roof above on my right), and there was Xmas music playing in retail shops already!!  Although I luuuuuuv me some Xmas tunes (like psycho listen to them 24/7 in December), doesn't it seem just a tad early?  When did Xmas start earlier than Veteran's day?  Not that I'm complaining, because "what the world needs now is love sweet love" and that fuzzy feeling sure helps that, but it just seemed a bit tacky. I mean, can we have a bit of a break after the invasion of the political ads???  Can we just adjust to this stupid time and light difference before jumping into the next crazy retail obsession???

I am all for starting to celebrate the holidays early, considering you only get about 1 month of real fuzzy warm feeling time per year.  But man, let me recover from my Halloween hangover first!  Then I need at least a month of fattening myself up and gorging on my favorite food, Thanksgiving.  Then, that glorious day at the end of November, we can buy a smelly tree that sparks the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year.

What do you think friends?  Is it too early for retail Xmas pushing? Or should I just embrace this merriment for 2 months now?

And now for your viewing pleasure, a wonderful pic of my amazoid friend Julie. (I had to Julie!  This pic rocks!)

What are your thoughts????

  1. Personally, my Xmas pushing starts at the end of October. I'm not even joking. I've got all my Xmas shopping done already, and I'm spending this weekend wrapping it all. I honestly adore Xmas that much I like to make the most of it :)

  4. It does seem like it's really early this year, but I'm personally ready to put my tree and decorations up already! The holidays just seem to make everyone a bit happier.

    1. Karen! You are totally right. There's nothing like that warm fuzzy happy Xmas feeling. I love, I admit.

  5. There is nothing better than Christmas, I love it! It does seem to get earlier and earlier every year. Believe it or not last year in the UK Christmas adverts, music and decorations started...wait for it...MID October. I was completely bored of it by December. Luckily they slowed it down this year.I think mid November is a good time to start getting in the festive mood. If my other half let me put the tree up now I totally would.

    1. Oh my gosh Cara that's half a year of Xmas!!! I love me some Xmas spirit, but sheesh that is too long.
I agree, mid November is perfect to start with the home crafts, but NOT the retail pushing!

  6. dude, i totally thought that was a picture of zooey deschanel! your friend really resembles her! haha i'm usually on a strict "no christmas until after thanksgiving" schedule, but since my family starts celebrating thanksgiving so early, i feel like maybe i should let christmas start a little early. 25 days never seems like enough time to watch all the movies and hear all the music anyway :)

  7. I would just embrace it! I may have already broken out the new sufjan stevens holiday album once or twice. I love christmas, but mainly just because it helps keep my spirits up when the sun starts setting so early!

  8. I'm guilty. Sort of. I've started planning and preparing for Christmas, making lists, Christmas cards etc. I want to have plenty of time for that. But, I never ever start listening to Christmas tunes, drink mulled wine or eat ginger bread cookies before Dec 1. That is nothing but a crime.

  9. I'm an absolute nut when it comes to Christmas, if I lived somewhere nice and cold I would totally have all my decorations out already...but since I live in San Diego (where the weather is being bipolar) I'm just going to have to wait, it's not the same with the sun shining and it being 80 degrees every 3 days or so. Every year as soon as we get home from Thanksgiving dinner though, the boys go to bed and I promise you the whole house is (and will be) decorated by the time they wake up! :) As far as retailers go, it is a bit early, however like I said if it were colder I would be totally down to get in the spirit already, 'cause lets face it the closer we get, the crankier shoppers will get, so I'd rather enjoy it now!

  10. You can add friends on Spotify to share and discover new music. The company also has added a Group Session feature that allows you to listen to a song or podcast simultaneously. The feature allows you to share a link via text or a social media app. Once a person accepts the invite, they can control playback, choose a new song, or add one to the playlist.

Here’s how to listen to Spotify with friends using the built-in Group Sessions feature.

Note: To use this feature, you need to have an active Spotify Premium subscription. Also, it’s only available via the mobile app and not on the desktop app.

  11. Printing on durable materials is becoming less complicated thanks to sublimation. glass sublimation temperature is a printing method that is simple enough to use on glass and other materials. If you happen to be in possession of a sublimation printer, you might find yourself wondering whether or not it is possible to print directly onto glass.

  12. Vidmate has a built-in downloader. Many stand-alone video downloaders require additional steps to save movies and shows. If you're downloading numerous videos at once, you might have to copy and paste the URL into the app. Original vidmate doesn't require external programmes to download, extract, or convert files.
