The Final Countdown {60 days}

Until my effin wedding guys!!

Holy shit. I need to get my shit together.

We still don't even have our invites totally designed yet.  ACK!  I am kind of slapping myself right now for attempting to plan this whole thing.  My wedding helper website tells me I still have 108 tasks to complete.  WHAT THE HOW???!

Anyways......

On the agenda this week:

1. Finish those invites.  We are lucky enough to have not only a good friend who is a graphic designer, but also a good friend who works at a printing press.  AND, they both want to do our invites for our wedding gift.  The planning has always involved a little too much beer and friend time, and not enough, well, planning.  We need to get on this.  Now.  What am I doing blogging?!

2. Get invites out for the bridal shower.  These are done, I just need to make sure everyone gets them.

3. Schedule our final catering tasting.  This one should be pretty rad. :)

4. Book the honeymoon.  Why haven't we done this!!???  We are nutso.

5. Get Jerdy a ring!!!  This one is pretty important.

OK...... I'm leaving it to 5.  Out of 108.  Oh boy.

Well...... It'll be a bit sparse around here the next few months.  I've got a couple of recipes and DIYs to share, mixed in with the wedding rants and random instagram photo dumps.

Hope you all have a great week!

Stupendous Monday {6/10/13]

Holy what?  It's Monday already!  Totally skipped over Sunday.

Lately.............

I'm reading this book!  And I love it.

I attended a social media seminar for my work at the Museum of Flight.  I just HAD to goof around a bit when the seminar was over. :)

We got to take a tour of the printing press that's creating our wedding invites.  See the 2 dudes next to Jerdy?  We are lucky enough to have them as good friends, and they are making us the raddest invites EVA!  Stay tuned for pics.

Sunny Sunday morning.

We took a little trip down to Shelton to get our wedding spot a little more perfect.  That's our feet, dangling from the deck that's being built.

This weather is SO cool.  Somehow I managed to fit in a bit of time for a cocktail and some sunny park time with the puppins.

Well...... I'm taking a little bloggie break friends.  I'm just too freakin busy with wedding stuff right now, and need a week or so to really get a handle on things.  Plus, it's good to take a break every once in a while eh?

Hope the sun is shining where you're at, and I'll see you all in about a week. :)

Style Lust {Chelsea Crew}

SHOES ARE THE SHIT!!!....... amirite or amirite?

Lately I've been really wanting to bulk up my shoe collection.  Maybe it's my everyday walk to work in tennis shoes that turn to comfy flats during the day, or the season change.  Whatever it is, in my search for newbies I keep finding myself coming back to Chelsea Crew!  They are so darling, oh my gosh.  I've got a few pairs already from past seasons and I adore them.

What do you think friends?  Killer huh?

I'm considering the Take a Little Dip Heel for my wedding ceremony shoes.  I adore the color of the Hot for Hemlock, but with my glorious shade of blu-ish pale legs, I'm not sure those would be such a good idea.  Also, totally buying these last ones.  Like right now.

Have a great weekend!

I know, I know......... they are all pretty much the same hairstyle.  Uber 60s and messy and RAD!  I love them all.  I'm leaning towards #4 with a big yellow flower.  I really like the side pony in #3 too though.  SO HARD TO DECIDE!

A good friend of mine is doing my hair for me, and I'm so pumped!  Any of you already married ladies got any wedding hair pointers for me?

Five on 5 Linkup party! {rad summer reads}

hey dudettes!

It's time for Five on 5!  Let's get together and meet some friendly new friends and join in some fun.

This month........ favorite summer reads.  Any Game of Thrones fans catch the Red Wedding on the show?  HOLY COW!!!  Oh my freakin gosh friends...... I've been waiting for weeks for that to happen.  Super pumped for what they do with the rest of book 3.  Total gem that one.

Anyways........... here are my 5 favorite summer reads!

1. Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins- One of my all time faves.  It's about time I picked it up again.... for the gazillionth time.

2. Grilling cookbooks.  I LOVE grilling outside!  And yes, I love reading cookbooks.

3. Anything by Dan Brown.  I know i know........ this one is a little odd for me.  But man, in the summer I adore these addictive fast read thrillers.  Not the most well written, but super fun to get into.

4. Cocktail recipe books.  Need I say more?

5. Comic Books.  I've got quite the subscription to comics!  But, I end up holding on them until I'm done with a massive sci-fi novel, or a story arc is over and I can read all of them at once.  The summer is my catch up on unread comics time.

I'm actually reading Cooked by Michael Pollan right now.  Anyone else reading this?

OK friends!  Now it's your turn!  Join Me, Alli, and our co-host Tabitha for a friendly link-up party!  We'd love to hear your top 5 summer reads in the comments, or just link up and make some friends.

Make sure you follow your hosts and co host to stay in the loop on the next link up.

Rhubarb iced tea

Booyah!  It's Saturday.

I'm actually out and about this weekend traveling around Washington for wedding stuff.  Renting stuff, renting more stuff, buying stuff, buying more stuff.  It's getting SO CLOSE!  The Final Countdown officially begins in about 2 weeks, when I only have 60 days left.  Holy shit.

I made some rhubarb iced tea a couple weeks ago that will seriously knock your socks off.  Pretty sure this has been my best experimental rhubarb season to date.  YESSSS!  I've still got some in my fridge that I don't know what to do with........... pickled rhubarb??  Does that seem disgusting?  Hmmmm.....

Here's what you need to make about a quart:

4 cups chopped rhubarb
3 cups water
1 cup sugar
3 teaspoons loose leaf black tea

In a saucepan, combine the rhubarb, water, and sugar.  Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 15 minutes.  Take off the heat and stir in your tea.  Stir occasionally while it cools for about another 15 minutes.  Strain well and place in a jar or pitcher.

Leave in the fridge overnight.  Pour over ice the next day with a squeeze of lemon.

VOILA!  Awesome homemade rhubarb iced tea.  I added some vodka to mine.  It was just screaming for some.

What better way to spend the first day of June, than sipping iced tea?

Have a rad weekend friends, and cheers to a new month!

Trish
